RRB Group D Exam 2020


Along with the exam dates of RRB NTPC the exam dates for RRB Group D exam have also been announced. The CBT for RRB Group D exam will be conducted from 15th December onwards. The exam of RRB Group D is conducted to select eligible candidates for the posts like Track Maintainer Grade – IV, Helper / Assistant Pointsman. The recruitment process of candidates for the RRB Group D exam is done by RRC (Railway Recruitment Cell). The candidates selected will be posted in 16 railway zones.


RRB Group D 2020 Exam Pattern


According to the exam pattern 2019 – 2020 for the RRB Group D exam, the sections that the CBT will consist of will be General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes. For each correct answer the candidates will score 1 mark and for every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted. The right to conduct CBT in single-stage or multi-stage is reserved to the railways. The candidates who qualify the CBT will have to go through the next levels of the exam that is PET, document verification and medical examination.

RRB Group D Eligibility


The candidates who are willing to apply for RRB Group D Exam must fulfil the following eligibility criteria -:


  1. Nationality


The candidate applying for the exam must be either:

  1. A citizen of India or

  2. A subject of Nepal or

  3. A subject of Bhutan or

  4. Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 


In order to apply for the exam the candidates of b, c, d and e should have an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.



  1. Age Limit


The age of candidates who are applying for the exam must be between 18 to 33 years.

  1. Educational Qualifications


  • A candidate who has completed class 10th from any institution recognized by NCVT / SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or ITI from any institute recognized by NCVT / SCVT is eligible to apply.
