Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared photos of the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway on Twitter on Saturday. The 118 km long project was developed at a total cost of around ₹8,480 crore and will reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from around 3 hours to around 75 minutes, the PMO said. Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway to the nation on Sunday.

Detours introduced on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway today

The Bengaluru-Mysuru highway will be inaugurated today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with traffic on the highway to be diverted between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Commuters traveling from Bengaluru to Mysuru have been advised to pass through Channapatna, Halaguru, Malavalli, Bannur. Those traveling to MM Hills from Bengaluru are advised to take the Bengaluru-Halaguru-Malavalli-Kollegala-MM Hills route.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur has commented after the BBC suspended former England striker Gary Lineker from his show. "Interesting how the BBC, which makes high claims on journalistic objectivity and independence, has suspended [its] star anchor on its social media activity," Thakur tweeted. Earlier, the BBC aired a documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which the Indian government called "propaganda".

Bengaluru to launch first methanol pilot bus tomorrow

European Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will launch Bengaluru's first methanol bus pilot test on March 12. Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) along with NITI Aayog, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Ashok Leyland is leading the project, an official said. "This will ultimately lead to a considerable reduction in emission levels," he added.

Part of Dahisar Bridge in Mumbai is open to the public

Part of a reconstructed bridge over the Dahisar River, which connects Shri Krishna Nagar in Mumbai's Borivali to the Western Highway and Railway Station, was opened on Saturday. The bridge had been closed to motorists in 2021 after part of it collapsed. However, work on the other part of the bridge is still awaiting clearance from the Forest Service.
